Eye Heart Pin (Blue)
This pin by Betsy Youngquist was made using an antique glass doll eye surrounded by beads and adhered in a mosaic process. The eye was salvaged from the grounds of a pre-WW2 German doll factory. These were the "flawed" eyes which were buried in the ground as a means of disposal. All of these materials are set in a silver-plated pewter heart form. Eyes are historically identified as symbols of protection. The brooch itself is 2.25 inches long and a little over 1 inch wide. This brooch is a one of a kind piece of wearable art. There is also a loop on the back of the piece for converting this pin into a pendant.
